Faces Only a Mother Could Love!
By Mike O'Connor
Brit author Matt Roper provides a photographic guide to 38 of the world's wildest-looking animals in WORLD'S WEIRDEST ANIMALS. A 2009 Summersdale Publishers release, this pocket-sized guide makes for a way-cool lunchtime diversion for adults or lots of fun for kids.

Among the animal wonders included in the 96-page book are the dumbo octopus, two-headed shingleback skink lizard, bumblebee bat, saggy-skinned frog, thorny (not horny!) devil, blobfish, cookie-cutter shark, leafy sea dragon, vampire squid, star-nosed mole and everyone's favorite, the duck-billed platypus.

Each creature gets a one-page write-up with a color photograph on the facing page. Interspersed in the book are five 'Weird Animal Facts' blurbs.

WORLD'S WEIRDEST ANIMALS probably isn't an essential purchase but it's fun and entertaining and informative...for kids of all ages. Recommended.

My son (4th grade) loves this book!

The photos are great, there is a wide variety of animals. My son used it for ideas when he was required to write about an animal for a class.
